Playing with an old sketchbook
I recently found a sketchbook from my early twenties where I had sketched out a few hundred comic book ideas. A few of them still hold some promise. I thought I’d spend a minute playing with the old sketches and give them a little more thought. This particular page is from a book idea titled ‘The Engines of Mars.’ A couple of mechanics are working on some minor subterfuge and telling one another bad jokes.

After her city is consumed by war a little girl finds herself under the protection of a wounded soldier that tells he a story of a legendary pirate that inspires her to become a soldier.
